The Maids by Jean Genet

Solange and Claire are two girls who live as housemaids in a rich modern bourgeois house. The imposed blackmail routine, obedience, the constant sense of entrapment, the love affair that develops between them over the years and their hatred for bosses, creates an explosive mixture of sexual perversions, destructive rage, murderous instincts and desire for rebellion and. Their desperate rush to heaven is on the same trajectory as the thousands of young people wandering in modern metropolises with no future and no hope, the silent daily uprisings and social unrest of our time.
