Sissy Doutsiou, actress and spoken word artist, presents her new spoken word live based on the album Insult of Public Ear Records, combining poetry, sound, theatricality and image in an intense stage narrative. Alexandros Mairis (Electric Litany) appears with a Live Cinematographic Session, where his personal compositions and the tracks of Electric Litany are accompanied by experimental screenings, giving his appearance an intense cinematic character. The duet Tasos Sagris & Whodoes brings to the field its post rock, trip hop and avant-garde electronic compositions, incorporating poetry, video art and stage practice into a immersive multimedia performance.

A few words about the ARTISTS

Alexandros Miaris (Electric Litany)
Alexandros Mairis is a frontman and founding member of Electric Litany, with whom he has released four albums and has appeared in festivals and scenes in Europe and America. At the same time, he is active in London as a composer for film and theatre, with works of his having been featured in feature films, documentaries and theatrical productions internationally.
In this concert he will present material from its two main axes: the music of Electric Litany and his compositions for cinema and theater. Through screenings and visuals that accompany the tracks, the live acquires a strong cinematic character, while material from his upcoming personal album will be presented for the first time.
Sissy Doutsiou
Actress and spoken word artist based in Athens, founding member of the Institute of Experimental Arts and curator of the International Video Poetry Festival. Her concerts are characterized by intense theatrical action, the use of screenings and the participation of additional actors with costumes and masks that draw inspiration from the Banilecus and the Japanese theater. He has published four poetry collections and two collections of short stories (Vacide Publications, Kastaniotis Publications). Her works and performances have been presented at festivals in Greece and abroad.
In the concert will present material from the LP Insult of Public Ear Records.
Tasos Sagris & Whodoes
The multimedia/spoken word duet experiments with electronic sound, post rock and triphop cinematic atmospheres, poetry and video art.
Through his poetry, Tasos Sagris — known for his participation in the Horror Vacui complex — photographs the era on a political, social and existential level, looking for moments of rebellion and escape outlets. He has toured with poetic readings, performances and theatrical performances in Europe, USA, Mexico, India and Nepal. The synthetic diversity of Whodoes enhances the emotional meaning of words with avant-garde and electronica compositions, giving a cinematic dimension to the whole project.
Their first album Phenomenology of Guillotine (2021) was released by The Institute for Experimental Arts – Records, while at NEWMAN Cinema they will present material from their upcoming second album.
Open acts: PYRETOS 42 & Poppy Delta – the new post punk / shoegaze band that has become a talk of the town with its first underground releases and the poet Poppi Delta who presents material from her new recordings.
